Workshop
I held my first floristry worshop the other day. We made a mille fleur hand tie in a decorative frame, it was very enjoyable!

FELT!!
I've been rather busy recently, I made some felt brooches which I thought would be nice for birthday presents, just as that little extra. Felt is so easy to craft with, I love the fact it will never fray, so there's no need for seams. I love the fact it is a stiff material too, so it keeps its shape and the fact that you can get it in any colour... Yay for felt!

I'm no snooty florist
I've decided I'm not going to be a snooty florist if I ever get my own business. I'm fed up with florists who look down their nose at you... it makes me so angry, why are they not nice to their customers?! As you have probably gathered I have just experienced one... she acted as if I knew nothing about flowers.... grrr.
In other news, my mum gave me a little pot of tete a tete, I planted it in my pretty vintage jug, when I get home I'll take a picture and post it on here!

I love pastel colours in bridal bouquets, elegant and subtle. I made this bouquet for my best friend, I love using ivy to frame and also bring through the bouquet.
In the next few weeks I really want to experiment with flowers, try new designs and see what I can achieve with my favourite flowers.... (which, on the downside are always the most expensive ones!). So, watch this space!

ode to the hydrangea
I want to give a little respect to the humble hydrangea... these under-stated flowers are truly beautiful creations, they add the wow-factor to a bridal bouquet and look magnificent grouped together in big tin buckets. Even one by itself in a vintage tea-pot transforms a room.

The beginning...
I'm new to this blogging jazz, so not really sure how to go about it...
I am a florist/children's worker. My reason for keeping a blog is so that I can record all of my spurts of creative projects and ideas, so that they are all in one place.
My dream is to one day have my own florist/gift shop.... this blog will (hopefully) inspire me to do something about it!
I'll leave you with one picture of a bridal bouquet I made for my lovely friend's wedding in the summer... She wanted buttons incorporated, it was very fun to make!
